Agra (Agra District), India

Here's one from Darcey, a new fan :) This is the Taj Majal, in Agra. It looks like India is broken down into states, then districts, then again into tahsils. Then each tahsil is broken down into 15 blocks! Just by reading various wikipedia articles, it looks like the district is closest to county-equivalent. A city can take up multiple tahsils, but generally is only in one district. So Agra is in the Agra district in Uttar Pradesh (state) :) Easy enough!

Thanks for the postcard!

Great blog, I hit the appalachian trail next week and will be hiking for 6 months. If there are any specific areas you want postcards from on the trail let me know and I will see what I can do.

Nice post, I also love Agra City. The city finds mention in the epic Mahābhārata where it was called Agrevaṇa
