Stark County, Ohio

Here's one from my long-time contributor, Scott in Philly (in Ohio). Pro football hall of fame, eh? I wonder if Dan's ever been there...

Oddly enough, when checking the spelling, I found there are actually three Stark Counties in the U.S. The others are in Illinois and North Dakota. Was Mr. Stark famous for something?

As a matter of fact, I HAVE been in Stark county. I've even been to the Pro Football hall of fame.

Ohio and Illinois' Stark Counties are named for John Stark who was a General Colonel in the Rev. War and is known as the Hero of Bennington after his service in the Battle of Bennington. But then again we all know that Illinois is a bunch of county name stealers

North Dakota's claims to be for a George Stark, a railroad officer.
