Council Bluffs (Pottawattamie County), Iowa

Here's another postcard from Scott's midwest trip, from Council Bluffs in Pottawattamie County (did I spell that right?). Looks like North and South Dakota might be harder than I thought, since they don't have mailboxes! But thanks for this postcard!

Audubon County, Iowa

When I grabbed the stack of postcards from my P.O. Box yesterday, this giant bull (Albert) was the first thing I saw. This one was from the Audubon Chamber of Commerce, and the postcard boasts that he's the largest bull in the world at 30 feet and built completely by volunteers from the city.

For some reason, this is one of my favorites so far. I have a soft spot in my heart for eccentric, Guinness-like stuff like this (i.e. "the largest ..."). Thanks!

Allamakee County, Iowa

This next one came from Rachelle from the Allamakee County Economic Developement and Tourism website. She sent me an email back saying that she was very sorry, but they didn't have any postcards from Allamakee County. I told her any postcard from the region or state would do, as long as it's sent from the county, and she delivered! Thanks Rachelle!

The website describes Allamakee County as a safe, beautiful place, free from pollution and overpopulation. It appeals to the nature-lover in all of us with meandering trout streams, panoramic valley and timbered hills. Sounds like a wonderful place!

Here is the postcard for Iowa that she sent me:
