New York City (Queens County), New York

Here's another Frankie postcard from New York City. Even though he didn't say which borough it was sent from (each borough is it's own county), each borough is, luckily, large enough to have its own sectional center facility. This one is stamped Queens, so I'll count it as such :)

Saranac Lake (Franklin County), New York

Scott sent this card about Saranac Lake in New York. Unfortunately, he mailed it from Plattsburgh in Clinton County, which Saranac Lake doesn't touch. Since the very first ground rule is that "The postcard should be postmarked and be send from within the county it's representing." I'm still doing honor system, because postmarks can be deceiving (sometimes they get transferred out of the county before they get a postmark), so if you can tell me that you actually sent it from one of those two counties, I'll count it.

Update: Franklin County it is!

Yes, I'm still here! And so are my fans by the look of my mailbox. Here is one from Scotty in Philly: Lake George, New York in Warren County.

Suffolk County, New York

Here's another one from my second-cousin-once-removed-in-law, Jim Steadman. Sorry Jim, I already have Suffolk County (from my first-cousin-in-law, Donna), but thanks for thinking of me!

Huntington (Suffolk County), New York

Here is one from Huntington, Long Island, from my wife's cousin who lives there. My wife has a lot of family who lives and/or summers on Long Island. As you can see, she pointed out the postcard was even made there! This even makes postcard #30 :) Thanks so much, Donna!

1000 Islands (Jefferson County), New York

This one comes from Eleanor, a friend from my parent's church in Austin. I love it when people go all out about the county they are sending! She sent a newly issued stamp to honor the antique boat museum in Clayton, New York, and that boat was made in Jefferson County. Thanks Eleanor!

Unknown Postcard #1

Well I finally got my first unknown postcard. It was a scenic postcard and it was addressed to me, but I can't tell what county it's trying to represent. It has New York City in the front, with a Richmond, VA area postmark, and a Liberty Bell stamp to boot. Thanks, Eric, for the postcard. I really do appreciate it! But, I'm afraid it doesn't count.

Albany County, New York

I got this one from Albany, New York from the Albany County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. This now makes two counties that contain the state capital (the other one being Ada County, Idaho). According to their website, Albany "Looks like history, feels like a vacation." I enjoy both!

They advertise the "Million Dollar Staircase" as the capitol building and the "Egg" at the empire state plaza. I can't wait to visit! Here is the postcard, stating that in 2009 it will mark the 400th anniversary of the Dutch discovery of the Hudson River.
