Logan County, Nebraska

Here is one from the Stapleton Chamber of Commerce, in Logan County, Nebraska. This was one of my "smallest counties" requests. Thanks so much for sending me one!

Brewster (Blaine County), Nebraska

Continuing with my 10 smallest counties series, here is a postcard from the City of Brewster in Blaine County, Nebraska. It will definitely work, Margie! I have to say that I'm very impressed with the response rate of rural Nebraska. You are all very nice to indulge me on my quest! Please tell your neighbors :)

Loup County, Nebraska

Here is another one of my "10 smallest counties" requests, from Kevin Brown of the Loup County Historical Society. Loup county ranks in 10th smallest at a 2000 population of 712. They didn't send a postcard, but they did send me this lovely fold-out card with a lot of information about the county. Since it's a small county and it's postcard-sized, I'll accept it :) Thanks!

Arthur County, Nebraska

I got another "holy crap" postcard, this time from the Arthur County Historical Society. I sent them a snail mail because they didn't have a website, and I got this in return! As you can see, the entire county only has a population of 444, which makes it the fifth smallest county in the US by population. I'm quite shocked (but pleasantly surprised) they even have a postcard about their county! I suppose they do boast the smallest church in the US, the Baled Hay Church. Thanks so much!

Neligh (Antelope County), Nebraska

This one looks like an old postcard from the Neligh Chamber of Commerce in Antelope County, Nebraska. I got this one in a way unlike any other postcard I've received. It came in an envelope with my address on it, with the generic SCF postmark on it. Then, inside the envelope, was the postmarked postcard, with no writing on it, not even my address. The only thing I can think of is that they went to the post office, got it stamped, then stuck it in an envelope for me.

In any case, it's a very cool older postcard of Neligh Mills and Dam, which is now a museum run by the Nebraska State Historical Society. Thanks!

Hastings (Adams County), Nebraska

I love it when I get a surprise postcard in the mail. This one came from Hastings, Nebraska. Although I did send a request to get one, I had not heard back, so it was nice when it showed up!

The postcard is of the Fisher/Rainbow Fountain in Hastings that was built over 50 years ago and has been running more or less continuously ever since. I like the lighting :) A big thanks to the Hastings Chamber of Commerce!
